GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY HOSTS ANNUAL CUSTOMER MEET IN MUSCAT

As a part of their ongoing customer engagement programme, General Automotive Company (GAC) recently conducted a Regional Customer Meet for its loyal FUSO customers at the Intercontinental Hotel Muscat. The well attended event saw customers receive certificates of appreciation and a memento from GAC, giving thanks for their continued support of the Mitsubishi and FUSO brand of vehicles.

Commenting on the event, Mark Tomlinson, General Manager of General Automotive Company said, “I firmly believe that we are not just in the business of selling vehicles. In today’s fast moving and competitive environment it is all about providing total transport solutions, combined with a genuine ownership satisfaction experience for each and every one of our customers. We want customers to have a solid confidence in our products and services, and we welcome each one as a valued member of our FUSO family. Events such as these go a long way in helping us achieve this goal.”

At the event, following a welcome speech by Mark Tomlinson, the National Sales Manager from GAC, Steven Tomkinson, share with the invited audience news of model upgrades and enhancements, including three significant changes made to the FUSO range over the past year.

Chief amongst these changes in the FUSO range of commercial vehicles was the replacement of the older 3.9 litre engine with a newer 4.2 litre 4-stroke engine across the entire range, including Rosa buses. These new engines have all the power required for practically any light-duty work. Their proven performance comes hand in hand with Mitsubishi’s renowned durability, fuel efficiency, reliability and clean emissions for the environment.

The second enhancement announced was the introduction of a new optional seating arrangement on all Rosa buses. The new arrangement is in a 2x2 format that allows for greater space and easy access to the centre aisle for passengers. Better still, it is available in all the three seating capacities – 26, 30 and 34.

GAC also introduced a new addition to the Canter family – the Canter Long-Wheelbase, This new cab-over truck has a significantly longer wheelbase that will accommodate bodies up to 5 metres long. While it may retain the standard Canter’s GVW rating of 6.5 Tonnes, it offers significantly more space for carrying larger volumes of cargo. As a result, it offers another level of load carrying versatility to satisfy customer’s transportation needs. Best of all, because it is mechanically identical to the regular Canter, the new long wheelbase variant offers the same low total cost-of-ownership in common with all other Canter models.

In addition to showcasing the new additions in the range to key clients, the customer meet also provided GAC with a great opportunity to show its appreciation to its most loyal customers by presenting them with a memento at the event.

“As the Sultanates economy continues to flourish, the demand for transportation and load carrying solutions will also continue to increase in-tune with this economic growth,” added Mark. “To help ensure there is always a perfect understanding of these ongoing changes in our customer’s business environments, strong communication and maintaining close working relationships with our customers is essential. We at GAC have successfully achieved this for the past four decades and will no doubt exert great effort in continuing our proven and trusted relations for many more years to come.”

General Automotive Company (GAC), a part of the Zubair Automotive Group, has been associated with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation from 1973 and has since been the sole dealers for the brand in the Sultanate. 2013 marked their 40th anniversary with the brand and stands as a testament to the historic relationship the group has with the Japanese automobile giant.
