Mitsubishi Shines at Motor Show Oman 2014

Mitsubishi, represented in Oman by the General Automotive Company (GAC), was once again held the centre stage at the 2014 edition of the Motor Show Oman, which was held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from December 2 to 5.

With eight different cars on display and decorated in its trademark colours of Red and White, with giant Tri-diamond logos adorning the edges, the Mitsubishi exhibition stand drew in over five thousand visitors over the four day show.

Commenting on the brands participation at the motor show, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, the National Marketing Manager of General Automotive Company noted, “Mitsubishi has always had a strong and loyal following here in Oman, with owners and fans admiring the strong performance and personality offered by each of our cars at a value price point. The motor show provided us with the perfect platform to showcase the Brand’s true automotive strength and diversity; allowing us to welcome even more people to Mitsubishi’s ever growing family.”

The Mitsubishi stand was also one of busiest at the show, with several activities organised for the visitors and their families flocking to the stand. Aside from the vehicle range on display, Mitsubishi also held a special raffle draw every two hours, giving away cash prizes to any visitor who registered at the stand on the first three days of the show. Due to its popularity, this number was doubled on the last day with Mitsubishi conducting the draw every hour.

For a more family-oriented experience and placing special emphasis on the customers of the future, i.e. the children who visited the Motor Show Oman, Mitsubishi also set up a special area for children to showcase their artistic talents by trying their hand at painting some iconic Mitsubishi vehicles. In all, over 800 children took part in the painting contest, with the entries split into three groups of children aged 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10. The winners of each category will be announced on 7th January with each receiving a special gift from Mitsubishi.

In addition, Visitors wanting a more hands on experience could head to a dedicated driving zone, installed to give the Mitsubishi area an interactive edge. A digital racing simulator complete with a big-screen, racing seat, steering wheel and virtual controls was available for racing fans to try out for the duration of the show.

Alongside its many show floor activities, Mitsubishi also launched a special month-long Instagram competition for all Motor Show Oman visitors and Mitsubishi fans. All one has to do is take a selfie alongside any giant Mitsubishi logo. These photos could include ones that adorned the sides of the Mitsubishi display or, now that the motor show has come to a close, any giant logo they come across or one they have created themselves. These photos have to then be posted online on Instagram tagged with #mitsubishioman. All entries will be entered into a special raffle draw that will be conducted at the end of the year, which will see three entries win a special prize from GAC.

Aside from the activities planned at the Motor Show, GAC also took registrations for the upcoming Team Pajero Adventure at the Mitsubishi Stand on the show floor. Scheduled to take place over three batches on each of the three weekends – December 12th, 19th and 27th, the Team Pajero Desert Adventure is aimed at giving Pajero owners and enthusiasts a real-world driving experience in challenging off-road conditions in a safe and secure environment. The Team Pajero Adventure provides owners with a chance to drive over the dunes and find out just how capable the legendary Pajero is at tackling the most demanding desert terrain and conditions. In addition, a fully optioned-up top-of-the-line Pajero, which will be used as the lead marshal cars on the trip, will also be on display at the stand. Registrations for the first trip have already come to a close with spaces on the remaining two trips running out fast. Pajero owners wishing to take part are encouraged to register with GAC at the earliest.
