MITSUBISHI TO HOLD 4th TEAM PAJERO ADVENTURE DUE TO DEMAND

General Automotive Company, the exclusive dealers for Mitsubishi in Oman, recently organised a three rounds of desert excursions for Pajero owners and enthusiasts. Entitled ‘Team Pajero Adventure’, the desert gave drivers the unique opportunity to experience the Arabian desert with the one vehicle designed to tackle the challenge – the Mitsubishi Pajero. Split across three weekends, the first was held between January 3rd and 4th with 43 Pajeros and over 200 participants, followed by the second between January 17th and 18th with 38 Pajeros and over 180 participants, and the third excursion took place January 31st and February 1st and involved 240 participants and 48 Pajeros.

Congratulating all participants on the Team Pajero Adventure, Mark Tomlinson, the General Manager of General Automotive Company, said: “The Team Pajero Adventure provides owners with a unique opportunity to tackle the desert conditions and drive some truly spectacular scenery, and while doing so find out just how capable the powerful SUV is at tackling the most demanding terrain and conditions. The event has received a fantastic response every time it is conducted with an ever increasing number of Pajero owners taking part. In fact, due to the increased demand, we have decided to organise an additional fourth excursion, which will take place on February 28.”

“I’d like to personally thank both our sales team and our customers for making The Team Pajero Adventure such a success,” he added.

The Team Pajero Adventure events were the latest in an annual series of annual adventures for Pajero owners to give them a real-world driving experience in challenging off-road desert conditions – provided in a safe and secure environment.

On each of the three adventures, participants first gathered at the Mitsubishi showroom at Azaiba, and once underway, moved to Wahiba Sands before fully testing their off-roading abilities at the Al Raha Camp in Bidiya.

Once at the Al Raha Camp, the convoy of Pajeros were escorted by Marshalls and drivers underwent a course in desert driving instruction in batches of ten. The drivers then proceeded onto the Dune bashing session, after which the group was taken atop a dune to relax and enjoy the sunset.

Once back at the camp a large number of activities and entertainment were prepared for the families to enjoy. This included a camp fire, magic shows, dinner and entertainment from a traditional Omani band, setting the mood of the camp as the sun set over the dunes. The following morning participants were given the opportunity to go camel riding or quad biking. Images of the event can now be downloaded from the brand’s ‘Mitsubishi Oman’ website.

Reiterating the success of the ‘Pajero Adventure’, Nikhil Gosalia, a participant in the third convoy said, “It was a very pleasant trip. I never had any experience of desert driving, but the sincerity and dedication of the "Team Pajero" was so encouraging that I could manage the full trip, without a single problem. The arrangement of the trip was amazingly superb. The team was not only technically perfect but was very lively with an excellent human touch also. In short, it was a great event. Love to join again, any time, every time. Keep it up ‘Team Pajero’.”

“The trip was really great! The Access team did a job of coordinating everything and making it really fun. Everyone was really good and fun to hang with too,” said Pradeep Hewege via Mitsubishi’s facebook page.
