MITSUBISHI TO HOLD TWO MORE TEAM PAJERO EXCURSIONS DUE TO DEMAND
General Automotive Company (GAC), the exclusive dealers for Mitsubishi in Oman, recently concluded the third round of desert excursions for Pajero owners and enthusiasts. Titled ‘Team Pajero Adventure’, the desert gave drivers the unique opportunity to experience the Wahiba Sands in the highly capable Mitsubishi Pajero. Split across three weekends beginning on December 12 and concluding on December 27. However due to the overwhelming demand from customers and enthusiasts alike, GAC has decided to conduct two more excursions in January 2015 – the first on January 09 and the second on January 23.
The Team Pajero Desert Adventure is split into three separate groups over three weekends, the first of which took place from December 12 to 13 with the participation of over 250 people and 55 Pajeros. The second trip took place from December 19 to 20 and saw the participation of 260 people in 56 Pajeros. The final trip took place last weekend saw the participation of 270 people and 60 Pajeros.
Commenting on the excursions, Rajesh Sharma, the National Marketing Manager of General Automotive Company, said: “The Team Pajero Adventure provides owners with a unique opportunity to tackle the desert conditions and drive some truly spectacular scenery, and while doing so find out just how capable the Pajero is at tackling the most demanding terrain and conditions. However these trips would not have been possible were it not for the efforts our sales team as well as the enthusiastic participation of our customers. As such, I would like to thank each and every one of them for making The Team Pajero Adventure such a success.”
These Team Pajero Adventure events were the latest in an annual series of annual adventures for Pajero owners to give them a real-world driving experience in challenging off-road desert conditions – provided in a safe and secure environment.
On each of the three trips, participants first gathered at the Mitsubishi showroom at Azaiba, and once underway, moved to Wahiba Sands before fully testing their off-roading abilities at the Al Raha Camp in Bidiya. Throughout the trip the convoy of Pajeros were escorted 10 Marshall Vehicles, one of which was the fully upgraded Pajero model on display at the recently held Motorshow Oman 2014.
Once at the Al Raha Camp, the participants were provided with specialized desert driving training. The drivers were then taken on a dune bashing session, after which the group is taken atop a dune overlooking the camp to witness the stunning sunset. Once back at the camp a large number of activities and entertainment were be prepared for the families to enjoy. The following morning, Camel riding sessions and dune bikes were provided for the customers to enjoy at their discretion. The convoy left the camp shortly after. Images of the event can now be downloaded from the brand’s ‘Mitsubishi Oman’ facebook page.
Reiterating the success of the ‘Pajero Adventure’, Ahmed Mohamoud, a participant on the third trip said, “It was a truly amazing trip and I had a great time. I would like to thank GAC for organising this event as well as the Mitsubishi sales team for their help and support. Everyone made me feel more at home on the trip than I expected, as if I were part of a really large family. I am waiting in anticipation for the next trip and I look forward to taking part again.”
“We at GAC want all our Pajero customers to experience the capabilities of their vehicle to the fullest. The Team Pajero Adventure enables them to do just that.
