Driving the Outlander

Introducing the latest generation of the OUTLANDER SUV. Whether you're on the daily commute or going deep into the heart of the countryside, the OUTLANDER is versatile, ready and waiting.

SUV Capability

Ready for adventure

The Outlander has all the benefits you'd expect from an SUV: a high driving position and high ground clearance, so it copes equally well with bumpy roads or uneven terrain. It delivers the spirited performance you need, including powerful acceleration and responsive roadholding. And thanks to a roomy cabin and space for up to seven passengers and luggage, it's great for families.

2360 CC, inline MIVEC engine

Impressive fuel economy

The 2.0L 16-valve MIVEC* petrol engine offers a compelling combination of punchy acceleration and outstanding fuel economy. The Auto Stop & Go function shuts off the engine at traffic stops, cutting fuel waste and CO2 emissions without disrupting the electronic systems. The engine restarts immediately, so you’ll never be left waiting.

*Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control System.

Off-Road Mode

Greater traction when you need it

Enhance the OUTLANDER'S off-road traction and stability even further with the new Drive Mode Selector switch on the centre console. Just press it until the mode you want appears in the Multi-Information Display on the dash. Choose between ECO, Normal, Snow or Gravel settings.

Electric parking brake with auto hold

Applying the handbrake is easy

An electric handbrake switch replaces the traditional lever. Pull the switch up to apply and push the switch down to release. And when you stop at traffic lights, Brake Auto Hold keeps the vehicle stationary even if you release your foot from the brake pedal. To move forward, simply press the accelerator to release the brakes.

Cruise Control

Effortless cruising

Set your desired speed and the Outlander will stick to it, until you cancel it or press the brake. It’s perfect for effortless cruising on motorways or long, straight roads.

CVT with 6 step sport mode

Slip into Sports Mode

A new 'M' position has been added to the CVT*. This puts the transmission into sport mode. So if you want the thrill of a manual driving experience, this is the setting to choose. You can also change into Sport Mode using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

*Continuously Variable Transmission is a system that seamlessly changes through a range of gear ratios.

Suspension: Front - Macpherson strut, Rear - Multi link

Smooth handling

We've increased the diameter of the front struts and refined the shock absorbers. The result is stable, smoother handling whatever surface you're on and without sacrificing comfort.
